Countries whose citizens do not require a Visa

Nationals of Kenya, Djibouti, holders of diplomatic service, AU, UN and AfDB passports do not require a Visa to enter Ethiopia. For further information click here.  

Basic Visa requirements

1. Fill and submit the visa application form
2. Copy of the biographical page of your passport
3. Passport which is valid for at least 6 months
4. Have at least two (2) blank pages left
5. Copy of your residency card (if applicable)
6. Visa fee
7. Depending on your nationality and the countries you have recently visited, you may be expected to provide certificates of vaccinations that you have received

Ethiopia immigration information

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Immigration, Nationality and Vital Events Agency governs cross border movements in and out of Ethiopia, issuance of visas as well as the stay of immigrants in the country. Any visitors to Ethiopia must obtain a Visa unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries or countries whose citizens are eligible to apply for an electronic visa or visa on arrival.

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Immigration, Nationality and Vital Events Agency controls airports and land ports through a system directly connected with the Department’s head office in Addis Ababa. The following guide shows applicable Visas for women in business, the eligible applicant visa fees, validity periods and Visa requirements;

To foreign nationals who are entering Ethiopia to be employed by business firms owned/operated by foreigners
