E-Resources for women entrepreneurs in Eswatini

AMIS provides relevant information to all agricultural stakeholders allowing them to take informed decisions by analysing statistics on the business intelligence module, or by reading important information and knowledge shared by the users on the collaboration platform. The information is collected from the official entities and from stakeholders. The system aims to capture most of the national production.

For now, AMIS statistics are about selected fresh produce like baby vegetables, fruits and conventional horticulture. It is expected that other commodities will be included as well in the near future. Subscribers receive by e-mail relevant information on the agriculture sector. By registering on AMIS as a "farmer user", emaSwati farmers are entitled to forecast their productions and so buyers can know beforehand the availability for each crop.

All stakeholders are invited to subscribe themselves to be able to contribute on Forums and Blogs and receive relevant alerts regarding the agricultural business. There is a free Subscription Page which allows all users to participate on the Blogs and Forums with comments. AMIS has relevant information on the national agricultural business and trends on international markets. All citizens, including agricultural stakeholders, students or researchers, are part of the target audience.

E-Business Directory for young entrepreneurs in Eswatini

To this end, SEDCO has an online business directory for youth enterprises currently receiving business coaching and mentoring from it to ensure they have an online presence at no cost. This online business directory is a profile submission service that allows business profiles to be added to a specific category where interested visitors can search and make purchase decisions.

The online platform and mobile App allow consumers to discover a listed business. Being listed allows potential customers to discover a business when searching for services, categories and amenities provided for by the listed enterprises. The facility will initially be made available to the youth enterprises for the duration of the coaching and mentoring period. Soon, the directory enrolment will be opened to other SMEs.

The SEDCO online business directory application is available on Google play store. Users can download and install the App SEDCODirectory and further use it in their comfort or convenience of their mobile phones or any other portable device any time and place. SEDCO is looking at ways to further develop the portal into a transaction-focused and marketplace portal, where full transactional business-to-business interactions will be facilitated.

SEDCO is constantly exploring opportunities and continuously seeking ways to find innovative solutions to unlock the full potential for emaSwati-owned SMEs and create a more resilient SME sector in the country.
