Business management training for women entrepreneurs in Eritrea

Business management entails the planning, organizing of tasks, monitoring and efficient utilization of the resources of a business. It is an essential skill for starting and running businesses which will enable them to make their business successful. Businesses have a better chance to succeed if they utilize limited resources efficiently. In addition, how to run a business in an ethical way, managing a business' social responsibility, fair competition and legal obligations are some of the aspects any women entrepreneur should concern herself with.

National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students

The mission of National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUEYS) is to cultivate and produce capable youth by promoting and strengthening Eritrean youth in all aspects of the national, regional, and international development process.  It provides capacity building through various types of activities. It has approximately 200,000-300,000 members.

TRAINING PROVIDED

• Every year NUEYS provides training to 1000 - 1300 youth in all regions of the country out of which 80% are women. 
• The training takes 3-9 months. 
• The vocational skill training provided by the NUEYS are in: pottery, handicraft, video editing, camera shooting, bee keeping, weaving, cooking, fish net making, electronics, electric installation, hair dressing, plumbing, graphics, among others. 

AVAILABLE RESOURCES

• The NUEYS has a library where women entrepreneurs get free access to materials.
• The members also have free access to the internet. 

Additional services which are beneficial to women entrepreneurs
NUEYS has micro-credit schemes in kind and in cash and it follow sup every six months.
