The aim of business training is to improve business performance for businesses ran by women. This means that

SMEs led by women become more profitable and impact the quality of life for not only the women but their families as well due to the availability of a higher disposable income. 
Many Organisations in Kenya are investing in capacity building for businesswomen to help solve the issue of under-performance of women owned businesses, mainly attributed to limited access to capital and lack of skills.

Description

Fountain Youth Initiative was established and registered in 2009 as community-based organization. The organization operates in the slums of Nairobi & Kiambu counties and rural villages on the western part of Kenya. The organization aims to nurture, empower, and transform local young people to be self-reliant, independent, and key players in their community.

Training Programmes
  • Skills training- Fountain Youth Initiative have teamed up with other well-wishers to equip over 300 marginalized youths with business skills and basic vocational skills such as tailoring, dressmaking, computer use and carpentry. The project graduates have been able to secure employment while others have started their own business therefore contributing to breaking of the poverty and illiteracy cycle.

 

Additional services beneficial to women entrepreneurs

· Microfinancing- Fountain Youth Initiative have successfully micro financed Butchery, Tailoring, Barbers, Hair Salon, Market Shop and Motorbike Operator Businesses for marginalized youth.   

· Amplify Our Voices Initiative-Through this initiative, Fountain Youth Initiative have established a network of over 20 000 local youths and equipping them with adequate information as well as skills to enable them seize existing opportunities and also creating platform for local youths and leaders to meet & discuss on issues affecting their community

Upcoming events

Annual Events- Every year Fountain Youth Initiative organize clean up, soccer tournament, and talent search for the local young people to participate. During these events, local young people are sensitized and educated on issues such as their responsibilities, rights, HIV/AIDS as well as environmental management
