Description | Being in existence since 1999, Nairobits is a registered trust in Nairobi, Kenya. It was created to empower youth from under-served backgrounds, using Information Communication Technology (ICT). The primary target group is disadvantaged youth from the informal urban settlements of Nairobi aged between 17 and 24 years of age. It exists to promote creative and innovative use of ICT that positively transforms and empowers the youth for an enhanced quality of life, envisioning a workforce with adequate access to equal opportunities and a positive impact in the society.

Training Programmes | Entrepreneurship Program- Nairobits majorly focus on Start-up approach in their entrepreneurship training. The entrepreneurship module allows the youth to be better prepared for the reality of running a business/ start up. The youth tackle a variety of topics, from financial awareness, management to the importance of branding and the power of social media tools.

Additional services beneficial to women entrepreneurs | ICT Training- The training is carried out by a team of well-trained designers and developers who incorporate hands on training approach, finding a good balance between practice and theory to ensure that every youth is well catered for and has the necessary tools and skills required to be empowered. Life Skills Program- Through this program, Nairobits works with young people to ensure that they’re able to understand and maximize their skill set. Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights Program (SRHR)- The SRHR Program employs a multi-component approach aimed at achieving universal coverage of quality SRH-services, increasing provision of comprehensive sexuality education, reducing poverty and achieving gender equality.SisTech- NairoBits seeks to actively bridge the issues affecting girls in informal settlements such as high dropout rates in school, early pregnancies and early marriage by advocating for equal educational skills and access to opportunities.
