Registering a business in Seychelles
The first step required in order for you to engage in any business activity is to register your business with Registration Division as stated by the Companies Act 1972, and to have the appropriate license. The license is issued by the Seychelles Licensing Authority (SLA), as stated by the Licenses Act 2010.
Exceptions to registering with the Registration Division
• Agriculture business projects or one operating in the agriculture sector, excluding livestock business projects, does not require a license to operate, but should register with the Seychelles Agricultural Agency. More information can be obtained on their website www.saa.gov.sc
• Foreign vessels should register with the Seychelles Maritime Safety Authority. More information can be obtained on their website www.seymaritimesafety.com
• Fishermen are activities related to fisheries business projects should register with the Seychelles Fishing Authority. More information can be obtained on their website www.sfa.sc

How to register for taxes
All new businesses must register with the Seychelles Revenue Commission within 15 days of commencing business. Furthermore, you must register as an employer within seven (7) days of employing someone. Employment need not be full-time as it also includes part-time and even casual labor.
The Taxpayer Identification Number (TPIN) is a pre-requisite to all procedures of tax registration under the Domestic Taxes and Customs Divisions.
How to apply for a TIN (requirements)
o After receiving the Certificate of Registration from the Registry Division, go to Seychelles Revenue Commission and fill in the form to register for a Tax Identification Number (TIN)
o Upon receipt of a TIN you become a registered business tax payer
