About the organization:

Life Changers Rehabilitation Agenda (LICRA) is a Zambian born Non-Governmental Organisation formed by Zambians and managed by Zambians. Its focus is on Campaigning to fight abuse against abuse of alcohol, drug abuse, gender-based violence, violence against children, HIV and AIDs and prevention of Streetism.

LICRA’s vision is build a better Zambia free from child abuse, Gender Based Violence, abuse of alcohol and abuse of drugs and zero new HIV Infection by 2030.

What LICRA does:

Focus is primarily health promotion and prevention at:

  • Harmful use of alcohol
  • Drug Abuse
  • HIV and AIDS Prevention Campaign
  • Sensitization of the area and dangers of Gender Based Violence and Child Abuse.

 

How LICRA does it:

LICRA promotes gender equality by encouraging women to participate in activities for the developing of their personal lives as well as community spaces.

LICRA also rehabilitates the already affected individuals with alcohol and drug abuse. This is done through counselling the victims of alcohol and drug abuse.

LICRA offers counselling to families as well to strengthen and encourage them prior to having an HIV test. Free condoms are supplied to the community spaces to ensure there are no new HIV infections.
