Prime Minister Hamed Bakayoko proceeded Thursday, October 22, 2020, in Abengourou, to the inauguration of the women's factories of Côte d'Ivoire, a government program, abbreviated USIFEM-CI, led by the Ministry of Women, Family and the Child. The opening of the first of these factories in the Indénié Djuablin, aims to develop female entrepreneurship, to accelerate the empowerment of women and to involve more women in the industrialization of the Côte d' Ivory in accordance with the vision of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara. According to Minister Bakayoko-Ly Ramata, the USIFEM-CI program aims to develop female entrepreneurship and enable women to acquire and install machinery for the semi-industrial processing of agricultural products. quotThe USIFEM-CI program aims to provide women's associations and groups (30,000 beneficiaries over three years) in all departments of the 31 regions and the 2 autonomous districts of Côte d'Ivoire, with processing or processing units semi-industrial production of agricultural products over a period of three years,quot said the minister. Installed in the Agni district 50 meters from the Royal Palace, the USIFEM-CI of Abengourou is made up of a sheller, a laundress, a rice packer, a tuber grinder and a palm seed crusher. With a total cost of 4.298 billion CFA francs, the USIFEM-CI program has a duration of three years. It provides for the training of women in financial management, access to the support fund for women in Côte d'Ivoire (FAFCI) of the 1st Lady Dominique Ouattara, the training of young girls in training and education institutes ( IFEF) in the fields of transformation and mechanics for the assembly and maintenance of machines.
