NWEC holds sales exhibition for women entrepreneurs

The National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC) organized a “Sales Exhibition for Women Entrepreneurs” on the Esplanade of Emmanuel Anquetil Building, Port Louis on 3, 4 and 5 August 2022 from 08.00 to 17.00 hrs.  The key objective was to promote locally manufactured products, mobilize and enhance entrepreneurial talent of women entrepreneurs registered with the NWEC.

The event was launched by Hon. (Mrs) Kalpana Devi Koonjoo Shah, Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare on Thursday, 4 August 2022 in the presence of Mrs F. Marechal Charlotte, Chairperson of the NWEC, Representatives of the Parent Ministry, NWEC staff and other distinguished personalities.

Fifty women entrepreneurs participated in the Sales Exhibition and sold a variety of products:

• Agro products: spices, pickles, crystallized fruits, potted plants, Rodriguan specialities, Indian sweets and pastries.
• Handicraft: crochet, organic soap, fancy jewelry, glass & fabric paintings, scented candles, pyrography, jute products, eco bags amongst others.
• Textile: fabric masks, tablecloth, kitchen sets, ladies/mens’/children’s wear, hand embroidered products, sportswear, bread bags etc.
• Others: Mehendi Application
