Fourth edition of the very AWIEF awards

This year marks the fourth edition of the highly anticipated AWIEF Awards, which serve as a premier platform to shine a light on the achievements of women entrepreneurs across Africa. The AWIEF Awards are Africa's premier accolades for female founders and entrepreneurs, designed to recognize and celebrate their contribution to the growth of the African economy. This year, a new award category is added to the list, the Energy Entrepreneur Award which was created to recognize excellence in the power, oil and gas, and renewable energies. According to Irene Ochem, Founder and CEO of AWIEF, the AWIEF Awards are a recognition of excellence in women's entrepreneurship in Africa quotWe have seen an exponential growth in the quality and number of nominations over the three editions previous ones. We have an obligation, now more than ever, to recognize and celebrate these women founders and entrepreneurs who are creating solutions and driving change in the African economy,” she said. Among the winners of previous editions of the AWIEF award: • Stella Okolie (Nigeria), • Wendy Luhabe (South Africa), • Jennifer Riria (Kenya), • Soraya da Piedade (Angola); • Temie Giwa-Tubosun (Nigeria); • Caroline Pomeyie (Ghana) Nominations can be submitted in the following eight (8) categories. Candidates can be nominated by themselves or by a third party. Merci pour l'initiative.je suis présidente de la plate-forme DYNAMIQUE UMOJA WA BONDE LA RUZIZI en sigle  DUBR qui réunie 33 organisations paysannes en RDC au sud kivu dans le territoire de wangu groupement de ngweshe.

Ce qui nous intéresse  c'est l'énergie renouvelable vu que nous avons une carence accru en combustible.

A partir de solange kasiba coordinatrice de l'Asbl IFRADE  à bukavu nous avons compris qu'il était  possible de valoriser les déchet pour fabriquer  des briquettes qui nous serviront pour le combustible  et aussi pour avoir l'argent.une très bonne initiative pour les femmes membres de la plate-forme dubr. Nous avons une presse à kamanyola et produisons déjà des briquettes à moindre coût  par rapport aussi braisées et bois de chauffes.notre contree  est victime des feux de brousses à cause des bergers qui viennent  avec leurs bétails en transhumance chaque année  vers le mois de mai jusqu'en septembre. Ce qui réduit significativement les effort de reboisement  depuis la guerre du rwanda en 1994 quand les réfugiés  avaient occasionné  un déboisement systématique.depuis le gouvernement  ne met plus l'importance pour punir les présumés  bergers  qui occasionnent  le feu de brousses.
