SIX BURKINABE WOMEN DISTINGUISHED FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP AT THE 1ST EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND NETWORKING

Six Burkinabe women were honored during the 1st edition of the international symposium on women's entrepreneurship and networking called quotWomen Meet Up Tunis 2019quot held from June 18 to July 1, 2019 in Tunis, Tunisia. This symposium was organized by the Global Platform of Women Entrepreneurs (PLAMFE) and the International Council of Women Entrepreneurs (CIFE) of Tunisia. They were five women who made up the Burkina Faso delegation to the first edition of the Meet Up Tunis 2019 symposium held under the theme quotDigitalization, a lever for sustainable development in Africaquot. Led by Dr Marie Madeleine Rouamba, president of the Burkina Faso section of the Global Platform of Entrepreneurial Women (PLAMFE), the Burkinabè delegation was able to take part, like women from other African countries, in the various activities that punctuated this symposium, namely panels, B2B meetings, an exhibition of products, a cultural and gastronomic day, master classes, but also distinctions to honor women who have distinguished themselves in their field of activity. Thus, two members of PLAMFE Burkina, including the President and the Secretary General, as well as four other laureates, were honored for their leadership and their activities which have a positive impact on the national economy. They are Hadja Mamounata Vélegda, economic operator; Diane Kaboré, Director General of the University Hospital of Bogodogo; Sonia Kaboré, president of the association Saveurs aurores, specializing in food and cosmetics; and Dominique Toé, president of the Association of Women Living with Motor Disabilities, also specializing in the food industry. During this symposium, the delegation of Burkina Faso caused a sensation during the cultural day by dressing in Faso Danfani. Traditional outfits which did not go unnoticed and which knew how to sell the image of the country to the other delegations which took part in this symposium. A source of pride for the delegation, but above all for Burkina Faso's ambassador to Tunisia, Lambert Alexandre Ouédraogo, who spared no effort to accompany the Burkinabè delegation during this Women Meet Up Tunis 2019. quotThis symposium was an opportunity sharing of South-South experiences with Tunisia and has made it possible to forge links for a long-term partnershipquot, indicated Dr. Marie Madeleine Rouamba, President of PLAMFE Burkina.
