The governments of the Republic of Cape Verde and the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe signed an agreement on trade and industry on Thursday, November 29 in Praia. During the ceremony, which took place at the Ministry of Finance, Cape Verde was represented by its Secretary of State, Gilberto Barros, and São Tomé e Príncipe, by its Secretary of State for Commerce and Industry , Eugenio António da Graça. Speaking to the press shortly after the signing of the document, Gilberto Barros stressed that the two countries have so far intended to trade. This agreement will therefore intensify the process with a view to its effective realization. This is so that we have products from Sao Tome in the Cape Verdean market and products from Cape Verde in the Sao Tome market, thus strengthening the representative of the Cape Verdean government. We will create jobs and opportunities in our countries, especially for ourselves. young people As he pointed out, this is the mandate that the executive power has received from the Cape Verdeans. In turn, the representative of São Tomé (Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Eugénio António da Graça) stressed that this is the implementation of an important trade agreement, creating opportunities for the sale of products on both sides. It should be noted that, subject to the agreement, Cape Verde's list of products includes, in particular: mineral waters; drugs and pharmaceuticals; animal feed, consultancy / training / technical assistance / self-employed / related services. Already, from Sao Tome and Principe, the products are: spices; the vegetables; fruits; crustaceans and molluscs. The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Eugénio António da Graça, and his delegation are in Cape Verde on an official visit aimed primarily at strengthening cooperation between the two countries, mainly in the fields of trade and industry.
