CÔTE D'IVOIRE: INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF ENTREPRENEURIAL AND DYNAMIC WOMEN

The International Forum of Enterprising & Dynamic Women, the FIED, is part of a promotional framework for women's initiatives, the work and the daily effort deployed by our brave women who until now have remained invisible. The 2019 edition of FIED, under the aegis of the Ministry of Women, Family and Children, brought together on July 4 and 5, 2019 the Latrille Event space in Abidjan, decision-makers, heads of businesses, financial institutions, civil society organizations, enterprising and dynamic women and girls, from rural and urban areas. The sponsor of the event, Catherine Samba-Panza, former head of state of the Central African Republic, underlined her commitment to the development of female leadership in Africa. For her, the inclusion of women in new technologies is a strong link for global economic growth. Today, in fact, through ICT, women can expand their trade all over the world through online sales platforms and social networks. Learning and literacy techniques are improved through digital applications and many others. Women can also train more easily or have information to increase their activities, explained Djelika Yéo, president of the platform of enterprising and dynamic women. In Côte d'Ivoire, rural women represent 67% of the workforce and provide 60 to 80% of food production. It is clearly the linchpin of our agriculture, therefore the fundamental pillar of our economy. The ambition of the FIED forum is to pay particular attention to the realities, the difficulties of women and young girls in rural areas, to highlight the proactive actions carried out to restore women to their grandeur and their true identity.
