The Ministry of Family and Social Protection, through the Institute for Women and Children, in partnership with various civil society organizations, commemorates the day against gender violence and the beginning of 16 activism days. On this occasion, the President of RENLUV (National Network for the Fight against Violence among Women) Aissatu Camará Indjai, declared that despite the existence of various documents and works carried out to promote women's rights, all kinds of violence against respect for women were always present. For the representative of the United Nations system, gender-based violence occurs because power imbalances persist. The President of the Institute for Women and Children, Maimuna Gomes Silá, considers the fight against violence against women difficult. During this solemn act, tribute was paid, with applause, to the three (3) women who lost their lives and to other victims of different types of violence.
