Today began October 17, 2019, the First National Youth Forum that for three days bring together young people from all corners of the country. There will be three days of discussion and presentations on topics such as African Youth: Perspectives and opportunities; Financing opportunities; the location of the SDGs, the role of communities in meeting the 2030 Agenda and Youth Engagement in meeting the Agenda, National Employment and Employability Policies Skills Development and Employability; as well as the ecosystem for South-South cooperation, capacity building for the promotion of business and partnerships and the role of associations in this South-South cooperation. Intended primarily for young Cape Verdeans, the meeting will feature renowned national and international speakers, including the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Rwanda Youth Minister, renowned businessman and philanthropist Tony Elumelu, United Nations experts responsible by areas of skills, employability, among others. Also, at the meeting will be held community workshops on civic participation and citizenship, the Policy of Girls and Young Women, Volunteering as a tool for development, Healthy Lifestyles, the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young people, as well as the role of young people in the prevention of alcoholism. The meeting, which is divided into 5 panels, will take place from 17 to 19 October and will be attended by about 150 teenagers and young people of both sexes and from all the islands of the country and the diaspora.
