17 Sep 2019 - 00:00:00
''We have the heavy and honorable task of sculpting the adult that our child will become'' confides Mialy Rajoelina, First Lady of Madagascar in her interview given to Jeune Afrique on September 10, 2019. Remember that the Malagasy First Lady is the Ambassador of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and founder of the quotFitiaquot association. She highlighted the difficult conditions in which women in Africa have to live. ''In Africa more than elsewhere, women are still too often dependent on men. Only greater autonomy will allow them to fulfill themselves while taking their full place in the economic development of the continent''. Mialy Rajoelina placed particular emphasis on the relationship between entrepreneurship and women. She made recommendations: '' (…) Finally, why not encourage companies to recruit women via incentive measures. There is no shortage of talent and the entire local economic fabric will benefit, thanks in particular to micro-enterprises.''
