23 Oct 2019 - 00:00:00
“At today's Council of Ministers, we lend our president of the head of government to the young girl Silvatiana Armando Indi for the opening, as prime minister of the circumstances, of the meeting of the members of the government. By this act Symbolically, the government, in partnership with Plan Guinea-Bissau and the National Network of Young Women Leaders, wanted to send a strong message to all Guinean girls, in particular, and to Guinean women in general, which is possible. About equal opportunities for men and women in the near future, with a woman at the head of the government, you can read a note from the head of government, Aristides Gomes, on his official Facebook page. A simple gesture, but of paramount importance in a country where women and girls are still confined to places far from decision-making centers, even though they constitute the majority of the population. This initiative is part of the celebrations of the International Day of the Girl Child, which took place on 11 October.
