Cape Verdean women take part in African Women in Dialogue in South Africa Eleven Cape Verdean women are taking part in the “African Women in Dialogue” event being held in Johannesburg, South Africa. About 1,000 women representing 55 African countries analyze the problems of the continent and propose innovative ideas that can lead to truly sustainable development. Zita Vieira, African Women in Dialogue coordinator for Cape Verde, said the national turnout lived up to the event's slogan, “The voice and power of women as agents of change”. This year's edition highlights the preparation of women for defining moments of change. This year, about 33 African countries are going to the elections. The organization believes that women have enormous power to influence peace, security and promote development. Therefore, the key word is sharing and union. The event started on Monday and ends today, when Johannesburg will be the women's capital of Africa. Emerson Pimentel - RTC / Praia Available online by Mário Almeida
