Combating Gender Inequalities for the Empowerment of Urban and Rural Women

Indeed, it is important to remember that FAFE is an initiative of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Ibrahim Boubacar KEITA whose main mission is: (1) the promotion of gender and the empowerment of women, (2) the promotion and protection of the rights of the child, (3) promotion of the family. It is in this dynamic that the partnership was established between the NGO AMASSA AFRIQUE VERTE and the Department through the FAFE. This new strategy of doing, doing aims to make the Fund accessible, in an equitable manner, to organizations and members of organizations working for the advancement of women and the development of children, meeting the criteria defined by the FAFE and having requested technical and/or material support or assistance from FAFE. It also aims to strengthen the technical and human capacities of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) or Promoters of Income Generating Activities (IGAs) that have been selected to be financed respectively by the loans. banks or loans from micro-finance structures from FAFE's financial partners. In this context, AMASSA benefited from forty million (40,000,000) FCFA from the Ministry for the Kayes region which includes seven (7) circles under FAFE actions for the 2018 financial year. After this series of interventions, the activities continued on the following points: · The official delivery of certificates to 30 women members of the Multifunctional Cooperative of Kita who followed the training for six months on agri-food processing. This cooperative is made up of 3,400 women from all the communes of the Kita circle and carries out, among other things, processing, sheep fattening, poultry farming and market gardening activities; · The visit of ten (10) stands containing various products (peanut paste, processed products, local juices,) were visited by the Ministerial delegation; · The delivery of major food processing, market gardening and school kits to six (6) associations including four (4) from Kita and two (2) from Diéma. In addition, a series of capacity building activities are planned for women, including training on the advocacy process for food diversification, leading community debates to popularize the new land law on the theme quotAccess of women's groups to agricultural land”;
