The official opening of the work of the 2nd edition of the National Meeting of the Framework for Consultation and Orientation for State/Private Sector Dialogue (CODESP) took place today, October 14, 2019 at the Maison de la culture de Bobo- Dioulasso. Chaired by His Excellency the Prime Minister, Head of Government, this meeting brings together around the members of the Government more than 700 economic operators. The work of CODESP 2019 was held over 2 days around the theme: quotStrategies for the integration of Burkinabè companies into national, regional and international value chainsquot. In his official opening speech, HE. the Prime Minister expressed the Government's satisfaction for the efforts made by the actors of the Burkinabè private sector who, despite the national and international economic situation, have shown themselves to be resilient in pursuing with serenity the investments necessary for a real economic and social development of the country. And he adds: quotTo the business world, I would like to express my gratitude for its strong mobilization around this consultation framework, the objective of which is to remove, in a concerted way, the obstacles to the emergence of a dynamic private sector, creator of jobs and wealth,quot he said. The State-Sector dialogue is a tradition established since 2001; it is the perfect expression of a synergy of effective and constructive collaboration between the Government and the Burkinabe private sector. This national meeting is the culmination of a process initiated since May 2019 through the organization of regional meetings in the 13 regional capitals which have made it possible to examine the concerns of the private sector at the decentralized level. The major recommendations resulting from the regional meetings as well as the specific concerns of the various sectors of activity were the subject of exchanges, during the sectoral consultations held on September 17, 23 and 24, 2019. During the next 48 hours, the participants in the CODESP exchanged on the concrete actions to be initiated for the implementation of the recommendations resulting from the preliminary discussions.
