It has been a long time since, in Burundi, more and more women are getting into business: trade, leisure, energy, (modern) agriculture, the environment, ... A real strength economic. But, are they sufficiently equipped (in terms of training, mentoring, financial means, etc.) to develop their business? The debates on this issue have already shown that they still face the barriers mentioned above. But this situation may change. To all these valiant Burundians, who, every day, fight to improve their situations, those of their families, communities, and even of the country, an initiative is already in place to support their entrepreneurial ideas: the online networking platform www. womenconnect.org. A first in Africa: the platform is intended to connect 50 million women entrepreneurs across 38 African countries including Burundi. It aims to support initiatives for the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs. More specifically, the 50MAWSP platform will allow Burundian women entrepreneurs to find information on access to capital, skills building, the creation of online business opportunities especially in this period of Covid-19, all this in the aim to contribute to its social and economic empowerment. The 50 Million African Women Speak Out (50MAWSP) networking platform is accessible via www.womenconnect.org, or by downloading the 50MAWSP app from the App Store and Google Play mobile application stores. Thus, a trader from Makamba, in the south of the country, connected to the platform, will be able, for example, to talk to her peers in the capital Bujumbura, in East or West Africa, and elsewhere. Funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), in Burundi, the project targets all women entrepreneurs, and is jointly implemented by the Ministry of National Solidarity, Human Rights and Gender and the Community of 'East Africa (EAC). Burundian Business Women why not take advantage, hurry up, join us at www.womenconnect.org, or download the 50MAWSP app.
