Training of Trainers on the use of the 50 Million African Women Platform

On the 13th and 14th October 2020, the East African Community in Partnership with the Rwandan Ministry in charge of Gender Affairs organised a training of trainers on the use of the 50 Million African Women Platform

15 Oct 2020 - 00:00:00
It is a training that kicked off two days ahead of the national launch of the 50 Million African Women Platform. 40 members of the Rwanda Chamber of women entrepreneurs were trained on how to use the 50 Million African Women Platform. “The need for this training session has been a continuous request from different stakeholders’’ said Hon. Christophe Bazivamo while opening the training session. The training is intended to ensure women leave the launch place with a full understanding of the Project but also with practical skills on how to use the Platform so that they can be able to help women from their respective Organisations to subscribe to the Platform. Hon. Christophe continued. Madam Ingabire Asumpta, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry responsible for Gender Affairs and Family promotion thanked the chamber of women entrepreneurs in Rwanda for the collaboration in selecting members to receive the training. ‘’Communication from the Ministry was clear that beneficiaries of the training have to be ambassadors of this innovative Project’’, the Permanent Secretary explained. The excitement seen on the faces of the participants was already a good sign that the selected beneficiaries are more than ready to learn and act as foot soldiers in carrying the skills to other women; Madam Ingabire appreciated. Madam Agnes Samputu, the Executive Director for the chamber of women entrepreneurs in Rwanda on her turn, expressed her gratitude to organisers of the training. According to her, equipping members with needed skills, has always been a good starting point for successful endeavors in their Organisation. ‘’Members, how many women are targeted by this Platform’’? Madame Samputu asked, ‘’50 Million’’; trainees responded in a chorus and what did we learn about sharing knowledge? She continued, “skills multiply when shared”; members continued in a chorus as if they have been rehearsing together. Uuuh, don’t say we don’t have the opportunity to multiply our knowledge with that target; the Executive Director concluded. The Deputy Secretary-General pledged the continuous support of the East African Community to the Partner States in joint interventions geared towards making successful the 50 Million Project.
