UNFPA Prepares the VII Country Development Program (CPD) with the Government of Guinea-Bissau (Ministry of Women, Family and Social Solidarity

UNFPA started today, February 26, 2021, a working meeting with technicians from the Ministry of Women, Family and Social Solidarity, with a view to the elaboration of the VII Country Development Program valid for the next 5 years (2022 - 2027).

The aforementioned CPD has the programmatic objective '' to contribute to the achievement of universal access to Health and Sexual and Reproductive Rights (SRHR) through zero unmet needs in Family Planning (PF), one of the three (3) transformational results of UNFPA , which aims to reduce maternal mortality, with the goal of: significantly increasing new FP users to drastically reduce maternal mortality. '' The 7th CPD Program will have a national coverage, with a greater focus on six (6) of the nine (9) administrative regions of Guinea-Bissau, namely: SAB, Quinara, Tombali, Bafatá, Gabú and Bijagós. The new CPD provides for five (5) components:  I & II - Sexual and Reproductive Health  III - Gender & Women's Empowerment  IV - Population Dynamics  V - Youth and Development
