Women Empowerment Agency organizes a training on Financial Education in Burundi

For budgeting, participants were able to learn how to use the money that is available to them wisely. In order to stay within the limits of the available budget, participants in the training during the group work suggested that one should review all financial goals and estimate income amounts, make a list of all expenses and the amount necessary for each and making sure that all expenses do not exceed your income, deciding how much to save and reviewing all that is necessary and making adjustments. To reduce expenses, the trainer instructed participants to consume less on non-essential items, spend less on parties and festivals, reduce expenses on life events such as weddings and funerals, save enough to buy basic items in large quantities and at a lower cost, plan ahead to buy basic items when prices are lower, buy less on credit and have less money on hand or keep money in a safe place to avoid temptations to spend on unplanned and non-essential things.
