Zambia Deaf Society joins 50 Million African Women Speak platform

The Ministry of Gender held a consultative meeting with the Zambia Deaf Society to discuss avenues of collaboration.

31 Aug 2021 - 00:00:00

The Ministry of Gender under the leadership of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Sastone Silomba, successfully held a consultative meeting with the ZDS. Among the agenda items for the meeting was how the Deaf Society would collaborate with the 50MAWSP in the spirit of leaving no one behind in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goal number 5. This is a clear testimony of the Ministry’s commitment to the full realization of ideals of an inclusive society by Leaving No One Behind.

The Ministry of Gender in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry and Ministry of Youth Sport and Child Development plans to undertake a Trainer of Trainers (TOT) for 50MAWS platform users across the deaf population before end of this year.

The Zambia Deaf Society Director Mr. John Ndhlovu thanked the ministry for the opportunity.
