Empoderamento das mulheres em Seychelles

As mulheres representam metade da população mundial, o que é motivo suficiente para empoderar as mulheres. Estudos mostraram que as mulheres iniciam pequenos negócios mais rapidamente do que os homens. Em Seychelles, a expectativa de vida das mulheres é maior do que a dos homens, portanto, mais ênfase foi colocada no que diz respeito à melhoria da vida das mulheres por oportunidades iguais às dos homens. Várias instituições estão envolvidas em iniciativas de empoderamento das mulheres e estão listadas abaixo.

COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB)

The COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) was recently launched in the Seychelles. It is mandated to promote programmes that integrate women into trade and development activities in eastern and southern Africa. in particular, in the fields of industry, trade and services, agriculture, fishing, energy, transport and communications, natural resources and mining, with the main objective of improving the economic conditions of women in the sub-region as well as increasing the awareness of women in development and business issues at the policy level.

COMFWB provides women empowerment initiatives to help them develop in their business. For further information on their training programmes, contact the COMFWB Chairperson.
