Exporting from Seychelles

As part of the continuous efforts in streamlining and modernizing the trade regime, the government has reviewed its policy of requiring that all export bound products be accompanied by an Export Permit. Under the new policy which is reflected in the Customs Management (Export Permit) Regulations, 2014, all products except for those listed in Schedule 1 of the Regulation can now be exported without a permit.

Goods listed under the aforementioned schedule are considered restricted goods, where exportation is prohibited without a permit granted under the new regulation, and consist primarily of chemical products, live plants and animals, fish and fishery products and motor vehicles.

The government considers this move as an additional step in the right direction aimed at removing unnecessary administrative burdens on businesses and facilitating the continuous development of trade in the country.

Seychelles' top exports include; canned tuna, frozen fish, sea cucumbers, fish meals and fish oil, while the country's top export destinations are: Spain, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, France, United States, Germany, Netherlands and Mauritius.
