Business management training in Malawi

Business management refers to all the activities associated with running a business such as controlling, leading, monitoring, organizing and planning in order to accomplish the desired goals and objectives of an enterprise. Good business management is important for creating a cohesive enterprise. Various organizations provide business management training in Malawi which women entrepreneurs can benefit from.

Mzuzu Entrepreneur Hub

Mzuzu Entrepreneur Hub (Mzuzu E-hub) is an entrepreneurship and innovation hub providing working space and technical assistance to start-up and early-stage companies by linking them to a network of services for success. Established in 2017, Mzuzu E-hub impacts societies through provision of office space, business incubation programs as well as creating a platform for upcoming entrepreneurs to access information on investments, trade, banking, business registration, technology and connect local entrepreneurs to global opportunities. It targets young entrepreneurs.

Programs

Mzuzu E-hum runs five innovation programs. These are:

Bizcubation

This is a six month business incubation program targeting 35 start-up and early-stage businesses with pieces of training/workshops in business ideation, business planning, marketing and branding, financial management; two-day Bootcamp, mentorship, access to office space and opportunities for growth. The program runs 3 months each for capacity building and implementation support.

Tikwere Community Outreach Program

This program supports communities by empowering families to understand the importance of an entrepreneurial driven society through an outreach program called Tikwere. The program targets women and youth who undergo financial literacy and vocational skills training.

Edu4Entrepreneurship

Through this program, Mzuzu E-hub support students in primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education to have a mindset shift through career and motivational talks, mentorship and coaching, awareness of enrolling into technical, entrepreneurial and vocational education training (TEVET) and construction of schools in vulnerable communities.

Networking sessions

Mzuzu E-Hub hosts various networking events including Mzuzu Pitch Night, Pitchday, Annual Entrepreneurship Stakeholders Forum, Global Entrepreneurship Week, Start-Up Grind Fire Side Chat and Cocktails, Youth Entrepreneurship Conference, and business expo. Through these programs, information sharing is enhanced.

Office space

Mzuzu E-hub provides working space for start-up entrepreneurs and organizations. Anyone using the office space becomes a member of the hub and contributes a fee of MK15, 000 every month. Members in this category are provided with a chair, desk and access to Wi-Fi.
