Women empowerment in Seychelles

Women make half of the world's population, which is reason enough to empower women. Studies have shown women start small businesses faster than men. In Seychelles, women's life expectancy is longer than men hence more emphasis has been put in regards to bettering the lives of women for equal opportunities as their male counterparts. A number of institutions are involved in women empowerment initiatives and these are listed below.

Women in Action and Solidarity (WASO) is focused on the creation and development of a strong empowered network of Seychelles women of low income, limited skills, living in unfortunate circumstances.
