There are one-stop centres, Justice Centres Uganda, providing a wide range of legal aid services
For issues that cannot easily be resolved regarding;
- your business: Consult JCU, your Local Council (LC) representatives. In extreme cases, refer to your local police who will review the case and handle it locally or refer it to the Police Criminal Investigation Department.
- disputes at work: Get advice from the Directorate Of Labour, Employment, Occupational Safety And Health
- marital assets: Get advice from JCU, The Uganda Association of Women Lawyers (FIDA-Uganda)
- your family: Get advice from JCU, FIDA-Uganda or your local Police Station (Children & Family Affairs department. If this does not exist, ask to be referred)

The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs has set in place one-stop centres operated by the Justice Centres Uganda (JCU) which is providing a wide range of legal aid services to the community. Some of these services include legal representation, mediation, referrals, awareness creation and outreach, as well as psycho-social support.
Legal disputes require supporting documentation. Your documents, such as contracts and financial documents, should always be properly filed for easy access.
