Business management training helps provide better understanding of the real-world picture in order to face business challenges head-on and identify new opportunities for progressive movement to higher responsibilities. 

Entrepreneurship training aims to develop entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial culture in the Gambia. Entrepreneurship skill development is directly targeted at stimulating the establishments of start ups or the development of business opportunity-seeking managers within established companies.

There are various institutions that provide Business training in the Gambia, most notable are highlighted below;

EMPRETEC Gambia

Empretec- Gambia program under the Enterprise Support Department of The Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA) came into existence in August 2014. The program is an international program franchise by UNCTAD and it operates on five fundamentals, entrepreneurship training workshops, business development services, market linkages, Business championship and policy advocacy. The main objective of the program is to unleash the growth potential of MSMEs in the Gambia through entrepreneurship training and business development advisory services.

The modules offered under this program are all hands-on, experience sharing and behavioral focus using a combination of both  indoor and outdoor activities which have proven from research to  make maximum impact. These set of  programs include the following;

1. Six days entrepreneurship Training Workshops

2. Farming as a Business

3. Business Development Services

4. Entrepreneurship Driven By Innovation

5.Master Class Entrepreneurship

6. Entrepreneurship Training in Local Language

Enrollment Criteria

  • Be in business or have a bankable business idea
  • Between the age of 18-65
  • Commitment to undertake six days of training and willing to start business
  • Complete at least Grade 12 or can speak either of the three most spoken languages
  • Satisfactorily pass the interview
