Overview of Legal Aid services in The Gambia
Currently, there is no specific framework for legal aid services for women. However, the National Agency for Legal Aid is set up by the Government to provide legal assistance for those who cannot afford lawyers.
We have in existence a Female Lawyers Association of The Gambia (FLAG ), which is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-partisan, non-governmental and non-profit making Association made up of members of the legal profession who in various ways aims to contribute to the development and realization of the rights of women and children in The Gambia.
