National Trade Instruments
The following National trade instruments have been developed in the trade policy so as to control exports and imports of goods in Tanzania.
- Tariff-based instruments:Tariffs; Taxation; and Duty Draw-Back (DDB) Scheme
- Non-Tariff Measures:Quotas; Import Licensing and Registration; Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) and Customs Valuation; Local Content Requirements; Standards; State Trading Operations; Government Procurement; and Administrative Barriers.
- Trade Defense Mechanisms:Subsidies; Safeguards; Antidumping; and Rules of Origin (RoO).
- Trade Development Policy Instruments:TAN TRDAE, TBS, TIRDO, SIDO, Investment Code and Rules; EPZs; Export Promotion Measures; and Export Facilitation Measures.
- International Trade Policy Instruments:Bilateral Cooperation Initiatives; RTAs; and WTO Agreements.

Trade Agreements signed by Tanzania
To tap into that, the government has signed trade agreements and developed a National Trade Policy which contains rules, instruments, and agreements important to control import and export of goods and services to and from foreign countries.
Importance of Trade Agreements to Women Entrepreneurs
The Tanzania Trade Policy is a government document that shows the commitment of the Tanzania Government. The trade policy acknowledges that women are the key productive force that is severely constrained by limited access to key productive assets including the capital, education, and skills.
To address the gap, the policy proposes various initiatives to be taken by various sectors to ensure the inclusion of women in trade processes.
