A response to health problems in Burundi

Mrs. Ginette Karirekinyana, while she was a researcher at the University of Quebec in Canada, had the idea of creating an Ethics Advisory Agency for International Cooperation (ACECI) in 2007. Within ACECI, Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana has designed concrete projects for sustainable development, including the plant-based malaria control project, catnip.

In 2010, Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana set up ACECI in Burundi and in 2014, the first ACECI products were launched. After seeing that the project was promising, Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana settled permanently in Burundi. And in 2016, Karire Products was officially registered in Burundi. Since that day, Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana has been in several associations of entrepreneurs such as the Association of Business Women of Burundi (AFAB), Agri Business and the Chamber of Art and Crafts - CHAASA and today she is the Vice-President of the Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burundi (CFCIB) in Burundi.

  1. Innovations by Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana

Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana was first a Research Professional in Environmental Ethics, Business Ethics and Medical Ethics at the University of Quebec in Canada. It was during her research work that she had the idea of doing immediate and short-term impact projects to fight against malaria and other diseases that ravage humans.

Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana's ultimate goal was to make nature the main ally of human health. The Karire products brand is a response to health problems, it is 100% natural and organic. According to Ginette Karirekinyana, the generosity and kindness of nature have no limits. She devotes herself to caring for, feeding and quenching humans. The innovation of Ms. Ginette Karirekinyana is based on 3 aspects, namely the social aspect and Awareness, the so-called local consumer aspect and lastly the sustainable development aspect.

  • For the 1st aspect, Innovation consists in raising awareness of the national and accessible environmental wealth, all that we have as plants, in short, biodiversity. The raw material for all Karire Products products is all locally grown plants. In other words, innovation concerns the valorization of natural wealth to make commercial products useful to human health.
  • For the 2 nd Aspect , the innovation consists in making people aware that everything people seek from outside (medicines, beauty products) is found in Burundi and is available naturally. Ginette Karirekinyana noticed that the culture of local production is not developed in Burundi. In the Karire products project, everyone benefits from it because even the poorest can pick Eucalyptus leaves and sell them at Karire Product and in this way they earn bread for their families.
  • The last and third aspect of Ginette Karirekinyana 's Innovation is Sustainable Development. The specificity of Ginette Karirekinyana's project is that you can achieve sustainable development in your environment with concrete and short-term results. In other words, sustainable development can be achieved in the short term with the Karire Products project.
