BUILDING SKILLS FOR WOMEN IN BENIN: TRAINING IN MANAGEMENT

​​​​​​​The Women BUSINESS Promtion Center (WBPC) is one of these resource centers supported by the UNDP with the particularity of taking charge, in a specific way, of the concerns of women entrepreneurs or those having an entrepreneurship project. As part of its program of activities, the center initiates training to build the management capacities of women entrepreneurs.

By enrolling in this training provided by the Women Business Promotion Center, they hope to strengthen their management and marketing capacities and benefit from the Centre's support to access credit and new markets, in order to boost their activities. and their income.

CAPACITY BUILDING OF BENINESE WOMEN BY ISESCO AND IICO

In Benin, several international organizations support women entrepreneurs. Such training workshops in digital, e-commerce, commercial management aim to improve the level of empowerment of women, which moreover responds to the vision of the Beninese government which gives an important place to this layer in the development process. economy of the country.

As part of the literacy and vocational training project for women's groups in the Republic of Benin, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) have offered a 21-day capacity building workshop to Beninese women with the aim of improving their production. It was through a training session at the Akassato Technical High School that the project was launched by the Minister of Secondary, Technical Education and Vocational Training.

For the Minister, this workshop has a double objective. On the one hand, it aims to train women to enable them to know and claim their rights, and on the other hand, to strengthen their professional capacity in sewing, embroidery in order to enable them to access different commercial and professional opportunities. .

Numbering 45, these women were trained for 21 days, from July 22 to August 11, 2019, on the various techniques for using and maintaining the machines that will be made available to them, on entrepreneurship, business management , leadership, etc. For this training, they benefit from 45 machines kindly donated by ISESCO and IICO.
