BENIN: TRAINING FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ON ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

UGFS AT THE SCHOOL OF SYSCOHADA

In order to provide the Union of Women's Groups of Savalou (UGFS) with an efficient accounting management system that meets the accounting and financial orthodoxy standards of SYSCOHADA, training on accounting management was organized for the benefit of twenty-five (25) members of the union. The general objective of the training is to strengthen the skills of union members and technical staff in accounting management and internal control. This training was based on the study of practical cases and put the learners in a real situation by carrying out manual and/or computer accounting exercises and some specificities of the management of projects financed by international donors.

 

THE CONRAD GBAGUIDI FOUNDATION STRENGTHENS THE CAPACITY OF WOMEN PRODUCERS AND PROCESSORS OF CASSAVA IN SAVALOU

Thanks to the second edition of the Forum for the development of Savalou and the well-being of Savalois, the women producers and processors of cassava in the commune were trained to improve the profitability of their activities.

The training, placed under the theme quotHow to make your production or processing activity profitable?quot, comes in response to the requests of these women during the first edition of the said forum, explained Conrad GBAGUIDI. Participants are expected to capitalize on what they have learned with a view to progressing in their activities, quotguarantee of the well-being of the municipality and the familyquot, indicated Conrad GBAGUIDI.

Denis AYENA, main trainer, recalled that the said training aims to quotteach women how to calculate the profitability of their activities through small daily accountsquot. “There are expenses that they make but do not take into account as expenses that affect their activities”.

quotBefore, we produce cassava, we process it and sell our products without accounting for small expenses. Today's training has enabled us to realize that it is incidental expenses that we were doing out of ignorancequot, testified Nina GBAGUIDI, president of the Union of processors' groups in the commune of Savalou.

A financial management book for activities was offered to each of the participants in order to better manage their operations from now on.
