Capacity building and training for Egyptian women in the field of business

In line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its sustainable development strategy that seeks to build a just society that guarantees equal rights and opportunities for its sons and daughters for the highest degree of social integration for all groups,
And the belief of the Egyptian state, that stability and progress will only be achieved by ensuring the effective participation of women in all aspects of national action.
In order to achieve the women’s empowerment strategy 2030, many government and private agencies and civil society associations are working to find new horizons for Egyptian women in order to help them obtain opportunities for social and economic empowerment. This is done by providing various training programs (technical - craftsmanship - entrepreneurship - marketing - Technical support programs - .....) for women in many professions in one of the scientific methods and at the hands of professionals to ensure their qualification for the labor market or to own a project and manage it effectively.

The importance of training and guidance for businesswomen comes as a result of the need for them to learn how to produce business ideas, sort them, and verify their validity in order to be effective, and then refine those ideas using practical techniques.
Training also helps in areas such as communication, risk taking, goal setting, life planning, time management, and negotiation.


Women Entrepreneur Training Moving Ahead - Get Ahead

The Women Small Entrepreneurs Go Ahead program aims to help ILO partner organizations encourage entrepreneurial development among women who want to start a small business or who have small businesses.


It is a training program offered to women only to help them create a simplified work plan and establish their micro-enterprises. It lasts for 5 days, with 7 hours of training and workshops per day.

Terms and conditions for joining the program

The woman must be from 21 to 55 years old, with proficiency in reading, writing and arithmetic, residing in the governorate in which the training is held, desire to establish a micro-enterprise, and enrollment is through a paper form and identity card.


National Council for Women

Ensuring its practice, and consolidating the values of equality, equal opportunities and non-discrimination, all in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, and in the light of international conventions and covenants ratified by Egypt.

The Center for Women's Skills Development of the National Council for Women provides training courses for women wishing to start or manage small projects in order to familiarize them with the basics and methods of management and marketing, and some courses include practical training so that the trainee can manage and follow up her project successfully.
The center also offers various training courses aimed at raising the efficiency of recent graduates from colleges or higher and middle technical institutes in order to qualify them to enter the labor market, such as basic and advanced computer courses, and courses on skills to enter the labor market, which qualifies new graduates to how to write a CV and conduct an interview. The center provides training courses for working women in order to improve their job performance.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency

The Enterprise Development Agency is the entity concerned with developing medium, small and micro enterprises and entrepreneurship, either directly or through coordinating the efforts of all agencies, NGOs and initiatives working in the field of these projects, or through the companies it establishes or contributes to.
The device was established by a decision of the Prime Minister No. 947 of 2017, and amended by Decree No. 2370 of 2018, to be directly subordinate to the Prime Minister.

Leadership Development Center for Business Administration

A training center affiliated to the Ministry of Business Sector based on a thought, vision and mission of a special nature. The center provides various packages of training programs and courses in various administrative fields, which aim to raise the skill and analytical capabilities of all different administrative levels (higher - middle - executive) for the various sectors economic and governmental institutions in the country, using modern management methods and techniques. The center also designs and implements various training programs and courses to which the decision to be promoted to senior management levels applies.

Admission requirements (restriction):

• The student must have obtained a bachelor's degree in commerce from an Egyptian university or an equivalent degree from another recognized college or scientific institute.
• For non-commercial students who have a BA or BA from other colleges, provided that the student fulfills the supplementary courses decided by the Business Administration Department (within 4 supplementary courses).
• Availability of practical experience for two years in the field of work after obtaining the first degree.
• Passing the English language proficiency exam with a score of (450) from Cairo University or the Amideast within a year from the date of registration.
Papers and documents required for registration:
• Application to join the program, which is obtained from the Center's Postgraduate Studies Department.
• Original Graduation Certificate
• Academic Transcript for non-commercial qualification marks
• Certificate equivalency decision from the Supreme Council of Universities regarding the certificates obtained by the student from outside universities subject to the Supreme Council of Universities.
• Six (6) recent personal photos.
• Attitude towards conscription for those under the age of 30.
• An up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• A certified practical experience certificate of no less than two years.
• The original birth certificate or an official extract thereof.
• A copy of the national ID card / passport.
Study dates (the academic calendar of the program):
• Duration of study: two academic years as a minimum (18 academic months) / (4 semesters).
• Lecture timings: mornings from 10 am to 4 pm, on weekends (Friday and Saturday).
• The total number of credit hours for the program (48 hours), and the following is the study program that includes the compulsory core courses
