Conditions for obtaining residence in Egypt

Places of extraction of Egyptian residency :

Types of residence in Egypt and how to obtain it :

First, tourist accommodation :

The person coming to Egypt, within a period of one month from his arrival, applies for a tourist residence or for the purpose of treatment for a period of three months (except for the Syrians, it was 6 months), and it was renewed after that. In schools, he cannot work on the grounds that this residence is a tourist residence.

Terms and documents required

1- A notarized lease contract from the real estate registry is submitted.

2- A recent electricity bill.

3- Whoever owns a real estate that is not registered in the real estate registry, provided that the ownership contract has a valid signature from the court or a valid and enforceable judgment.

Second: Study accommodation :

It is given to the person who registers his children in schools, and it is the easiest type of residency. Once the children are registered in schools, a non-tourist residency is granted for a period of one year, subject to renewal, for all family members of the first class. This type of residency gives the holder the right to travel and return, but is not authorized to work.

Terms and documents required :

1- It is required to submit proof of academic enrollment and receipt of school expenses.

2- Notarized lease contract from the real estate registry.

3- An electric bill.

Third: Investment residency :

It is granted to investors who invest in Egypt through the Egyptian Investment Authority and is granted for the first time for one year and is renewed for three years and then renewed for five years.

Papers and conditions

1- The investor’s share in the investment company must not be less than the equivalent of 35,000 US dollars to obtain the approval of the investment residency

2- He must complete all his identification papers with the Investment Authority

3- The required security approvals are granted to the investor and his first degree relatives

Fourth: Real estate residence :

Whoever buys a real estate worth 100,000 US dollars or its equivalent in Egyptians can obtain a residence permit for one year and for a period of three years, subject to renewal.

Terms and papers

1- For someone who owns one or more real estate with a value of no less than 200 thousand US dollars or its equivalent in Egypt.

2- If the value of the property is 400,000 US dollars, or its equivalent in Egypt, the residence is for five years.

3- The title deed of the property must be registered in the real estate registry “in Syria it is called Tabu”.

4- A proof of transfer of the purchase amount must be submitted through any approved bank in Egypt.

5- It is granted to the property owner and his first degree relatives.

Fifth: Iqama as a result of marriage to an Egyptian or an Egyptian woman

It is granted to the wife of an Egyptian citizen or the husband of an Egyptian citizen and for a period of one year to be renewed for three years and then renewed for five years.

Terms and documents required

1- It is granted to a foreigner who married an Egyptian citizen or married an Egyptian citizen.

2- Relatives of the foreign husband or wife of the first and second degree shall also obtain annual residency under the Egyptian husband or wife sponsorship.

Sixth: Accommodation for the purpose of work

The former is granted to those who license a sole proprietorship and obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Manpower after affiliation with the Exporters Union, and obtain a commercial register and tax card through the Chamber of Commerce, which enables him to obtain a work permit that enables him to obtain an annual residence, and is renewed periodically, and he can grant this residence to his relatives from first class.

Work permit for workers in companies and factories licensed in Egypt, and granted by the labor office in the Immigration and Passports branch located in the governorate in which the worker resides.

The documents required to establish work are:

Tax card.

The commercial register of the company or factory in which he works.

- Employment contract - Insurance form No. (2) - a print of social insurance showing the number of Egyptian workers in exchange for foreign workers.

He can grant this residence permit to his first-degree relatives

Seventh: The establishment of an asylum “yellow card ”

A person can apply for asylum to the High Commissioner for Refugees in Cairo “Zamalek.” After an interview with him and his family, he and his family are granted the right to asylum under the protection of the United Nations and the right to reside in Egypt, for a period of 6 months granted by the Tahrir Complex in Cairo on the yellow card granted by the UNHCR.

Residence prices in Egypt after the increase became as follows:

1- The entry visa fee for a single trip is 400 pounds, and for several trips it is 500 pounds.

2- The foreigner with special residence shall be given a residence card valid for 10 years.

3- With regard to the foreign modification, the ordinary resident gives a card valid for 5 years.

4- If the foreigner has been granted Egyptian citizenship, he must, in both cases, hold a valid passport valid for the duration of the authorized stay.

6- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall provide the Passports, Immigration and Nationality Department with a check of 5% per month of the value of the entry visa fees collected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

7- It is allocated for the expenses of deporting and deporting defaulting foreigners in the cases established by law.

8- The director of the Passports Department sets the procedures and rules regulating the completion of the deportation and deportation process, in coordination with the concerned authorities.

12- And 500 pounds for reconciliation in violation of non-notification before changing the place of residence.

13- And 500 pounds for reconciliation with a foreigner in case he does not obtain or renew a residence permit.

14- 500 pounds for each residence permit or card or its renewal.

15- A fee of 10,000 pounds to apply for Egyptian citizenship
