Legal support and support for women is the most important goal for women's empowerment

National Strategy for Women Empowerment 2030

  • The year 2017 was declared the year of Egyptian women, an idea that President Sisi approved and adopted, and it was launched at a general conference in March 2017, during which the National Strategy for Women Empowerment 2030 was launched in line with regional and international development goals, which consists of 5 axes: Political Empowerment This strategy was integrated with Egypt’s Vision 2030, and the National Council for Women launched a women’s observatory to follow up on the implementation of the strategy and to identify the obstacles and challenges facing the various ministries and agencies that participate in implementing the strategy. The strategy also seeks to respond to the actual needs of Egyptian women, especially Residing in the countryside of Upper Egypt, the poor, the breadwinner, the elderly, and the handicapped, as the first categories of care when developing development plans in order to provide them with full protection and full use of the energies and human and material resources to achieve the principle of equal opportunities as stipulated in the Constitution .

  • In many situations, the Egyptian government emphasized the need to pay attention to women’s issues and direct the light to the problems they suffer, which for the first time made the issue of women’s empowerment not a factional demand but rather a general goal in front of the political leadership of the state, which it seeks to achieve in a large and fruitful way . This prompted many who are interested in women's issues to say that women's rights organizations and the state are, for the first time, walking side by side in one path towards empowering women and eliminating all forms of discrimination against them .
