Financial education for women in Madagascar

Aware of the importance of financial education issues, the government and various stakeholders are taking initiatives in the area of financial education, particularly within the framework of the celebration of International Youth Day. Several institutions such as the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the UNDP led with the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Budget and the Chamber of Commerce of Industry of Androy, UNCDF and the ILO, gave training on awakening to entrepreneurship and financial education to 65 young people aged 18 to 35, including 32 young girls and 33 young boys.

The Ministry of Economy and Budget also sponsors the “Global Week Money” event every year by carrying out an awareness campaign through financial education sessions for better financial inclusion.

Microfinance institutions such as OTIV and Accès Banque are also one of the first actors who work in the implementation of programs or awareness campaigns on financial education with a view to optimizing income and expenses. ..
